Taste of Summer
Tasmania’s Taste of Summer takes place on Princes Wharf No.1 on Hobart’s waterfront in the heart of the historic Salamanca, just 5 minutes’ walk from the Hobart CBD. The main entrance to the site will be on Morrison St, opposite the Parliament House Gardens. A family friendly event to taste your favourite Tasmanian foods and beverages.
The Taste of Summer also hosts a New Years Eve event where they will be celebrating with Australian music icon, Daryl Braithwaite. The evening will be packed with fireworks, delicious food, and entertainment for the whole family.

Launceston to Hobart Yacht Race
Departing on 27 December each year is the Launceston to Hobart yacht race. A 285 nautical mile race around the Northeast and East Coast of Tasmania featuring very competitive and challenging offshore competition.

Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race
Over the past 77 years, the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race has become an icon of Australia’s summer sport, ranking in public interest with such national events as the Melbourne Cup, the Australian Open tennis and the Boxing Day cricket test. No regular annual yachting event in the world attracts such huge media coverage than that of the Sydney to Hobart.
